Mincey Marble’s ASTM e84, Class A Fire & Smoke Rated Product Line
MINCOR™ was developed by Mincey Marble in the mid 1990’s when we learned that the hospitality market needed tub and shower surrounds which achieved a Class A rating per the ASTM e84 tunnel test. Our Research and Development department began the complex process of developing the specific ratio of raw materials and chemicals to produce Class A cast marble products. The final result was the successful development of MINCOR™.
MINCOR™ is tested annually by an independent laboratory to assure customers of strict, unwavering compliance with the International Building Code regulations.
Within Mincey Marble’s product line, the Class A fire rating typically applies only to vertical wall surface; therefore all of our tub and shower surrounds are available in MINCOR™. For special situations, windowsills, thresholds and vanity tops may be ordered in MINCOR™. All MINCOR™ products are available in the same finishes as Mincey Classic™, our standard product line.
We are proud to say that MINCOR™ is now specified by many architects and hospitality brands throughout the U.S.
The following are our test results from 2005-2007. We have been testing MINCORTM to the ASTM e84 standard since 1996. If you would like a complete test history, please click here to view our Archived files.

By definition, any material that is rated Class A, B, or C must meet both flame spread and smoke density requirements. In other words, to be rated at all according to the ASTM e84 test, you must pass both parts of the test. See chart below for more information on ASTM e84 ratings:

Mincey Classic™ was developed in 1966 when Kenneth Mincey mixed the first compounds together to make cast marble. Over the years, it has been redefined and reprocessed and has today, become the fundamental standard which other cast marble companies to strive to reach.
Mincey Classic…. when only the best will do.
Mincey Classic™ or standard cast marble is non-ratable using the ASTM e84 tunnel test, due to smoke density requirements.
