History

Mincey Marble is located 40 miles north of Atlanta on the shores of beautiful Lake Lanier, in Gainesville, Georgia.

After more than 30 years, we are still a family owned and operated business. We believe that if something is worth doing, it is worth doing right the first time.

Our roots can be traced back to the mid - 1960's when cast marble was first introduced for commercial and residential bathroom use. It was then that Kenneth Mincey learned the art of designing and producing superior cast marble products. Over the years, Mr. Mincey developed a rare talent for creating breakthrough designs that established new standards in the cast marble industry. Among his numerous innovations are the integral backsplash and bowl developed in 1966, the first marble whirlpool circa 1978, the custom shower pans he introduced around 1984 and the popular integral aproned vanity tops now used extensively in hotel bathrooms. Although we began as a supplier to the luxury residential market, we have moved into the commercial field and now work exclusively in that area. We feel that our custom-design background is very well suited to the Hospitality Industry.

Today, Mincey Marble continues in the tradition of our founder by producing cast marble products that are well crafted and specifically designed to meet the changing needs of our customers. We have built our company and our reputation on personal referrals and customer satisfaction. By being a team of experienced craftsmen and utilizing the industry's most modern equipment and techniques, we continue to redefine industry standards and extend our marketplace. Manufacturing Process

The production process for the manufacturing of cast marble products is a fascinating procedure. We begin with a custom mold set to your specific requirements. The mold is rolled into the spray booth where it is inspected, cleaned and sprayed with gel-coat before moving to the curing area to dry. Next it's taken to the pouring department where an exact mixture of ground marble, pigment and a polyester resin are combined in a Gisco mixing machine. This state of the art computerized machine heats the mixture to a pre-set temperature, adds the catalyst, and then pumps it onto the mold. After the mold is filled, it is then rolled to a curing area. Here it is placed on a shaker table to release any air that may be trapped in the mix. When the proper amount of time has passed, it is removed from the mold in the demold department, inspected, and then taken to the finishing department. Here the product is inspected again then loaded into custom designed crates and sealed. Random finished goods audits are conducted weekly at this point.

Now the order is ready for shipment ...
